Canada Post Length + Girth Calculator
Canada Post size limits

- 100 – 118 inches: Oversize fees apply to packages over 100 cm on any single side or over 200 cm combined length + girth.
- Over 118 inches: Packages over 300 cm length + girth must be shipped through Canada Post's specialized freight services or alternative carriers.
Maximum single side: 78 in. Maximum weight: 66 lb. Always verify against the current Canada Post rate guide before shipping high-value items.
How Canada Post measures girth
Canada Post uses the standard girth formula:
girth = 2 × (width + height)
length + girth = length + 2 × (width + height)
Worked example. A 50 × 20 × 20 inch box has girth (20 + 20) × 2 = 80 inches, and length + girth = 130 inches.
Canada Post calculates girth as 2 × (width + height) for boxes. For irregular shapes, the carrier may use the circumference at the widest point.
