This page explains what GirthCalculator.com collects, what third-party services we use, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email contactus@girthcalculator.com.
The short version
- We don't have user accounts, and we never ask for your name, email, or contact details to use the calculators.
- Calculator inputs (your dimensions, body measurements, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. They are not sent to our servers.
- We use three third-party services that do collect data about your visit: Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Adsterra. Details below.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising and analytics — see the controls under each service.
What is stored on your device
If you use the body girth calculator's "Save session" feature, your measurements are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device. To delete it, clear your browser's site data for girthcalculator.com.
Your preferred unit (cm or inches) is also stored locally so you don't have to re-select it on every page.
Third-party services we use
1. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-JPGL1YGRD0) to understand which pages are popular and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics collects information including:
- Pages you visit on this site and how long you spend on each
- How you arrived (search query, referring link, direct visit)
- Approximate location (country/city, derived from IP — full IP is not stored long-term by default)
- Device, browser, and operating system
- A randomly generated identifier stored in cookies so Google can recognise return visits
Google Analytics does not see your calculator inputs or any personal information you haven't given the site. Their data handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Opt out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or use a browser-level tracking-protection feature (most major browsers offer one).
2. Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertising on the site. AdSense and its advertising partners may:
- Set cookies in your browser to remember which ads you've already seen and to measure ad performance
- Use your IP address, device information, and browsing behaviour to choose which ads to show you
- In some regions, build an advertising profile to show you more relevant ads across the web
Google's use of advertising cookies is described in How Google uses cookies in advertising. AdSense participates in the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework where applicable.
Opt out: Visit Google Ad Settings to disable personalised ads from Google. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies via the Digital Advertising Alliance (US) or Your Online Choices (EU).
3. Adsterra
We use Adsterra to display additional banner advertising. Adsterra and its advertising partners may:
- Set cookies to measure ad delivery and frequency
- Use your IP address, device, and approximate location to choose relevant ads
- Share information with advertising partners for targeting purposes
Adsterra's data practices are described in their Privacy Policy.
Opt out: Adsterra honours browser-level Do-Not-Track signals where supported, and supports the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. You can also use the DAA / Your Online Choices opt-outs linked above.
4. Google Fonts
Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may log the IP address making the font request. Google Fonts does not set cookies or use the request for advertising.
Cookies on this site
Because of the third-party services above, the following types of cookies may be set when you visit:
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics (typical names:
_ga,_gid,_ga_*). Expiry: up to 2 years. - Advertising cookies — Google AdSense and Adsterra. Expiry varies by partner, typically 30 days to 13 months.
- Functional storage — localStorage entries for your saved sessions and unit preference. Stays until you clear browser data.
GirthCalculator.com does not set any first-party tracking cookies of its own.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)
If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), or a jurisdiction with comparable privacy law, you have rights regarding personal data that third-party services may collect about you. These include:
- The right to know what data is collected and how it is used
- The right to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data
- The right to opt out of personalised advertising and the sale or sharing of personal data
- The right to withdraw consent at any time
To exercise these rights for data collected by Google Analytics or AdSense, contact Google through the controls linked above. To exercise rights for data collected by Adsterra, contact Adsterra. For any rights or questions about this site itself, email contactus@girthcalculator.com.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions) and does not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, please email us and we will work with the relevant third parties to remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes — such as adding a new third-party service or changing how data is shared — will be noted in a prominent banner on the site for at least 30 days.
